The Alphabet A to I
Learn the first nine letters of the Norwegian alphabet — A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H and I.
The Norwegian alphabet starts like this. Here are the letters A to I with pronunciation and examples:
The letters A–I

| H h | /ho:/ | like "h" in "house" — silent in "hv"! | hus (house), hund (dog), hei (hi) |

Tip
The letter C is almost never used in Norwegian — K is used instead. Norwegian is a phonetic language which means you pronounce it (almost) exactly as it is written. Much easier than English!
